Dániel Vedres (* 1980 in Budapest, Hungary) horn, voice, various wind instruments and electronics
Since 1992, Vedres has been playing the horn and won, for example, the Hungarian National Competition for Horn as well as the Special Price for the best performance of the contemporary piece composed for this competition.
From 2001 to 2006 he studied orchestral music at the Music Academy “Carl Maria von Weber“ in Dresden with Prof. István Vincze. In 2004 he started studying composing with Rainer Lischka and Günther Schwarze.
Besides his long lasting activities in symphonic orchestras (St. István Orchestra, BM-Duna Symphonic Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra Plauen Zwickau, Haydn Orchestra, Musica Juventa Halle, MAV Symphonic Orchestra etc.), he started very early to enrich other musical styles with his playing of the horn. Thus, he practised improvisation, jazz and other cross-over projects. He founded the Buntus Trio and the Genius Horn Ensemble, in which he regularly performs his own compositions.
Since 2002 Vedres has been working with live electronics, a specially constructed loop and effects system, as well as with a personal selection of instruments such as a trigger horn, natural horn, Wagner tuba, a collection of ethnic flutes, drums, piano and voice.
Vedres played for Frank Köllge’s Bimbotown Orchestra, has been a constant guest at IVI events (Institute for Vocal Improvisation) since 2008, has been invited to the Wellenreiter Project Fund for the creative handling of music and sound in films and multimedia solo programmes, where he used the one-of-a-kind Live Ppt™-MickeyMousing which he invented himself.
For shortfilmlivemusic he uses his invention, the world’s first spheric electronic pipe quadrophone.
